Valley Creek Mar 11 2013
Got a chance to fish Valley Creek yesterday and was pretty impressed with the amount of surface action that was going on. Fished four a few hours and had fish rising the whole time. Altough the amount of pressure that Valley is getting the fish still seemed to be back on the hatch and didnt seem to mind all of the comotion that was going on. Pretty much every fish in the whole creek was feeding as the BWO and some midges were on the surface all day long. Had good luck with cdc spinners that works well for trikes and saw some bigger olives in the air too. These little browns are a whole lotta fun especially on my new Superfine Touch 2wt. Be careful with your presentation here this fish key in on the target and follow it all the way to they finally make their decision to eat. Cast down stream and make sure you give these fish time to adjust back to there feeding lanes. It is vey easy to put these little guys down with a bad cast or even dragging a fly in front of them. These fish are creatures of habitat and will only eat with perfect presentation. Have fun out there and keep in mind that the more pressure this creek get the more difficult the fishing will be. Have a great day and maybe i wi see you on the run!!
